The Feast of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary takes place on the 15th of August. In Mykonos this day is the feast of the Panagia Tourliani, the patron saint of the island. This important religious holiday marks her death or her “falling asleep”. Devout members of the Greek Orthodox Church precede this day by two weeks of fasting. The day itself is marked with celebration, feasting and partying. For those interested in Greek culture and religion, Mykonos is a wonderful place to experience this spiritual event.
It’s all about love people! That’s why Yakinthos Residence also hosts the chapel of Saint Yakinthos – a traditional Cycladic sanctuary dedicated to our Saint of Love, with the Aegean sea as the backdrop and designed to turn any special occasion into a memorable experience!
